Last night I was watching the niece of Martin Luther King Jr. in an interview.  I truly appreciated how true she was to her uncle's vision for our country. When asked a question concerning what would her uncle think of where we are now if he were still alive, she really surprised me. She said he would be amazed yet greatly saddened because we were not acting in love.  She expressed with sadness the lack of value we have for life with the taking of lives of unborn children.Did you know there are more babies killed in the womb in this country every year than were U.S.soldiers killed in all wars combined?  Studies have proven most abortions are not performed for the health of the mother, birth defects or rape/incest victims. They are done because the pregnancy was inconvenient.  I believe the majority of women are truly loving, caring individuals but feel backed into a corner when this happens and it seems like ending the child's life is their only choice. Fear is what causes us to make a lot of decisions in our lives. What will people say?  How can I care for this child...I can't care for myself?  What about me....I had plans? The Bible says 'Perfect love casts out fear." That Perfect Love is Jesus & as the church, we are to be His representatives.  Love is the only way we can combat that which seems incomprehensible: the loss of innocent lives not only by guns and abuse but by choice. Dr. King was on the right track and he believed in his message so strongly, he died for it.

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

I have decided to stick to love...Hate is too great a burden to bear.”

Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”

“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.”

“Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.”

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

“Nothing pains some people more than having to think”

“Wherever the early Christians entered a town the power structure got disturbed and immediately sought to convict them for being 'disturbers of the peace' and 'outside agitators.' But they went on with the conviction that they were a 'colony of heaven' and had to obey God rather than man. They were small in number but big in commitment. They were too God-intoxicated to be 'astronomically intimidated.' They brought an end to such ancient evils as infanticide and gladiatorial contest."

Thank You God for this man who brought so much light into a dark world!
